I had a conversation with our son recently and said that I thought plain old "name recognition" played a part in his win. Our son rolled his eyes at me and told me I was crazy. (Not an exact quote, and used on a number of occasions.) I didn't go far enough but I was on the right track.

Appreciate your analysis, every post.

Thank you! Yeah, name recognition is a huge factor!

I've been saying all along that CNN should be renamed TNN (Trump Network News) for pushing the Red Button 24/7. CNN's obsession with Trump, repeating his outbursts over and over, and ignoring the accomplishments of the Biden administration, has been a key factor in Trump's reelection. Most Americans don't have a clue what's in the Inflation Reduction Act or the CHIPS Act. How could they with legacy media's negativity bias driving the programming?

Or do consume it but via ignorant talking heads on social media.

I believe you are correct on all fronts. Blue button. Government for the people. I think we need to stop mentioning his name and say Republicans instead because that is who we will be battling after he is gone. I think we need short quips that attach Republicans to American Oligarchs / wealthy / takers/ selfish/ greedy etc. We need to attach it to real issues like health care and infrastructure.

But we need to find a way to get into the conservative media loop. Half the country only sees conservative media. Fox, radio, YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, podcasts and that is going to get worse now.

Russia and China fund an armies of online trolls to spread messages. The Dems need someone to do the same. We need an army to attack main stream media to keep constant pressure on their biased reporting. Dem leaders need to be out on every podcast or interview they can do spreading the same messages.

Like you said, Dems need branding but we need armies to spread the words.
